Hello There!

Lots of things have been going on this past summer. I'm continuing to work on my material for a new CD. I don't know exactly when I'll have it finished, but I hope to set another date to record sometime next month.
Back in June, I had the pleasure of playing with Louis' Blues at The Poorhouse Bistro in San Jose. I had Wendy DeWitt on piano which was a thrill for me. In July, Louis' Blues played a great outdoor gig in Napa as a part of a concert series put on by Headfeathers Hair Salon. We were lucky enough to have Randy Bermudes playing bass on that gig. I was surprised to see that one of the audience members was another great bass player named Patty Hammond from the band Kickin' The Mule.
I've also been gigging steady with my other band, The Dirty Cats, mostly around the Bay Area. Some of the cats that I've had the pleasure of playing with recently have been: Marty Dodson, Bruce Todd, Marvin Greene, RW Grigsby, Tim Wagar, Steve Evans, Randy Hayes, Dave Bernstein, Mike McCurdy, Elvis Johnson, Tom Bowers, Tommy Thomsen, Bing Nathan, and John Graham. I also had a great experience hosting a bi-weekly blues jam at The Seahorse Saloon in Pacifica. It ran for about three months and was a big success.
On October 3rd, I will be playing with Louis' Blues at Biscuits and Blues here in San Francisco. I am especially looking forward to it for three reasons: #1 I'm planning to perform a few new songs from the vast Louis Jordan Songbook. #2 Steve Lucky, whom I have never had the opportunity of playing with before, will be playing piano. #3 It's a great venue! I hope to see a lot of you there!
I want to get out on the road at some point..probably early next year. I've had some tentative offers and will be working hard on making it happen. Take care!
